Async video
Configure journey video nodes, send invites, and review clips with integrity signals.
Async video is native to InsightHire journeys — not a third-party add-on. Recruiters attach video question nodes to a journey; candidates record answers in the browser; AI scores responses against position criteria and integrity signals feed analytics.
Build the journey
- Open Templates → Journeys (
/dashboard/journeys). - Create or edit a journey and add Video response nodes with prompts, time limits, and retake rules.
- Attach the journey to a position at
/dashboard/positions/[id]/edit(or when creating a position from/dashboard).
Preview the candidate experience with admin preview on the journey builder — same UI as production without creating a session.

Video integrity analytics
Recruiting ops can audit recording quality and integrity trends at Analytics → Video integrity (/dashboard/analytics/video-integrity):
- Tab switching and focus-loss signals
- Device and environment anomalies
- Export CSV for compliance reviews
Pair with Analytics → Journeys (/dashboard/analytics/journeys) for completion rates and drop-off by node.
Live interviews (separate capability)
Native live video interviews (Daily.co) are gated by the insighthire_live_interviews platform flag and scheduled from candidate profiles. Async journey video does not require that flag.
For calendar-based live interviews with Teams or Google Meet, enable meetings_microsoft_teams or meetings_google_meet and connect per-recruiter OAuth at Settings → Integrations (/dashboard/settings/integrations).
Best practices
- Keep journeys to 3–5 video questions for completion rate; add assessments as separate nodes if needed.
- Write prompts that map to scored criteria on the position.
- Process
/dashboard/reviewdaily so candidates aren't waiting on human feedback after they've finished recording.
