Async video

Add recorded video questions to a journey and review candidate responses.

Collect recorded video answers without scheduling a live interview. This is called async video: candidates record on their own time in a web browser, and recruiters review the clips later. InsightHire can score responses against the position's criteria and report recording integrity signals.

Add video questions

1. Open Templates → Journeys.
2. Create or edit a journey.
3. Add a Video response step for each question.
4. Enter the prompt, time limit, and retake rules.
5. Attach the journey to a position.

There is no separate preview link in the journey builder. Attach the journey to a test position and invite yourself to check the complete candidate experience.

What candidates do

1. Open the journey from their invitation email or after applying.
2. Allow browser access to their camera and microphone.
3. Record each response and follow the retake rules you set.
4. Complete the remaining journey steps.

Candidates with portal access can return later to continue an unfinished journey. Your logo and primary color come from Settings → Branding.

Send invites

You can send a single or bulk invitation, invite candidates from a position, or start the journey automatically after a careers-page application. LinkedIn Apply Connect is configured under Settings → Integrations → LinkedIn.

Review responses

Open the review queue to:

• watch each video response
• view the overall score and scores for individual criteria
• advance, reject, or message candidates in bulk

Open a candidate profile and journey report for more detail.

Review integrity signals

Integrity signals are observations that can help you review how a recording was completed. They are not proof of misconduct. Open Analytics → Video integrity to review:

• tab switching and loss of browser focus
• unusual device or recording-environment signals
• a CSV download for compliance review

Use Analytics → Journeys to check completion rates and see where candidates leave a journey.

Live interviews are separate

Async video does not require the optional live-video interview feature. Live interviews are scheduled from candidate profiles when that feature is available. For Microsoft Teams or Google Meet interviews, connect the relevant calendar integration under Settings → Integrations.

Best practices

• Keep journeys to 3–5 video questions to support completion.
• Write each prompt to match a scored position criterion.
• Review completed responses daily so candidates are not left waiting.
