Build your first journey
Journey builder, node types, candidate emails, and attaching journeys to positions.
Journeys are ordered flows candidates complete asynchronously — video responses, assessments, document uploads, scheduling, and more.
Journey builder
Dashboard → Journeys → Create journey
| Field | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Name | Internal label, e.g. "Engineer async screen v2" |
| Description | Shown to candidates on the welcome step |
| Estimated time | Sets expectations ("~20 minutes") |
Node types
| Node | Candidate experience | Recruiter output |
|---|---|---|
| Instructions | Rich text welcome | — |
| Async video | Record answers per question | Clips + transcripts + AI analysis |
| Assessment | Timed quiz / case study | Scored report |
| Document upload | PDF/image upload | Files in candidate profile |
| Schedule interview | Pick slot from calendar | Calendar event + reminder emails |
| Reference check | Provide referee contacts | Reference workflow |
| Quiz / culture | Culture or values quiz | Culture alignment signals |
Drag nodes to reorder. Each node can have completion rules (must pass assessment threshold, must upload doc).
Questions & rubrics
For video nodes, pull from Question library or write ad hoc. Attach evaluation guides so AI scoring knows what "good" looks like. See Questions & AI scoring.
Candidate emails
Journey sends transactional emails on:
- Invite / apply confirmation
- Reminder if stalled (configurable)
- Step completion
- Journey complete → "under review"
Templates: Settings → Notifications and per-org Email templates.
Attach to a position
Position edit → Journey dropdown. One default journey per position; bulk-invited candidates inherit it.
Preview & test
Use Preview journey as admin, or invite yourself with a test email. Completed test candidates can be deleted from Candidates → bulk actions.
Versioning
Editing a live journey does not retroactively change in-progress sessions — new sessions pick up the latest graph. Major changes: duplicate journey, migrate new applicants only.
